Along with the other clergy, I want to thank you all for the gift and show of appreciation this past Sunday in worship for Clergy Appreciation month. I also can’t express my gratitude enough for the unexpected and beautiful baby “shower” that those of you in The Bridge arranged at the end of the service. I was so surprised and touched by the children and your gifts, and I will treasure that memory for a long, long time!
This Sunday in The Bridge, we will celebrate All Saints’ Day with Holy Communion. In our tradition, we not only honor our great ancestors in the faith as saints (like Saint Paul, Saint Junia, etc.), but we also understand that all baptized Christians are saints, and we honor the faith that we see and are encouraged by in each other. Additionally, we will take time on Sunday to remember and celebrate the lives of those saints who have passed away in the last year. As most of you know, we have lost some beloved members in The Bridge this past year, and I look forward to a time when we can honor them and acknowledge all they have meant to our faith community.
Please remember that this Sunday is Daylight Savings Time, so take a little extra time at home to prepare for worship on Sunday morning. Spend some time in prayer, or think about some of the people in your life who have encouraged you or helped you to grow in Christ, and then join us in The Bridge as we thank God for all the saints, together.
